We expect 2020 budget lessens economic burden of the citizenry – Sunyani residents

Residents in the Bono Regional capital say they are hopeful the 2022 budget would lessen the economic burden and make life comfortable for the ordinary citizenry.

Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta is expected to present the nation’s 2022 financial statement 2022 in Parliament on November 17.

In a random interview with Sky News Sky News in Sunyani, Miss Angelina Kumiwaa, a civil servant said she was expecting the budget to increase salaries of public and civil servants.

“The four percent salary increment for public sector workers is woefully inadequate considering the astronomical hikes in goods and services in the country.

“I think the salaries of government employees need some upward adjustment to make life better for us”, she said.

For Frank Dompre, a university graduate, it was imperative the financial statement highlighted realistic strategies for job creation so as to address the rising youth unemployment situation which threatened national security.

“It is my hope the budget would provide tax reliefs and holidays to importers”, Charles Owusu, an importer stated.
